Wiffle and titties

The thing was too long last year. The whole idea is to have a good time. Rushing around to try and get all of the games in sucks. There needs to be a way to make the games have some type of time limit. A sudden death rule after an hour maybe?

Simple solution is to put a time limit on games. I know there's always that, "We could score 12 runs this next inning!" mentality, but it has to stop somewhere. I remember our game last year vs. Red Devils lasted around 2 hours. The time limit would depend on the number of teams entered. If there are only 6 teams, then we don't have to really worry much about time, but if there's more than 6, I'd say 45 min. or an hour would be a good start.

We talked yesterday about doing a 15 run or 7 inning game, which ever comes first, instead of a time limit.

Time limits are tough to stick by. Say for instance there are two minutes left in the hour the team that at bat will get to finish the inning. Then the other team might also get another inning in depending on who batted first.

With a time limit there is also the possibility of stalling once you obtain the lead. We all agree that somthing has to be done to limit game length.

7 innings can take forever, too. I've seen one person at bat for 5 minutes. You might want to make it 5 innings. But good points about the time limit.

P.S. 5 innings will get everyone at least 3-4 at-bats per game.

P.P.S. 3-4 at-bats is about how many you get in a MLb 9-inning game.

I believe that 7 is fair for up to eight teams (see new grounder rule). Over eight teams then yeah, we probably should change it to 5 innings. We can always create a tourney rule where we can change the innings allowed BEFORE the next game if we see a trend in long games first round.

I agree with Weber that the games should go 7 innings or 15 runs. 7 innings can be played out very quickly and most of last years games went 15-20 innings. The new grounder rule will facilitate this and we may find that 7 innings is too short for competitive games with good defense. So we may even be able to lengthen the later championship games if we see that the early games are moving too fast. Time limits are just too hard to monitor and we will probably move faster with 7 innings than an hour time limit. As Weber said, if 7 innings are taking too long then we will just shorten the next round to 5. The goal should be to have the championship game played in perfect light.

TIME LIMITS ARE BULLSHIT AS SOON AS A TEAM GETS A LEAD THEY WILL JUST STALL. AND THIS IS AGAINST THE NATURE OF THE GAME. i LIKE INNInGS ALRIGHT and 15 is not that hard if u arent a bunch of pusses
